The 9 11 Memorial greatly impressed me emotionally.  Water arcs from thousands of points, and thousands of individual names are cut deeply into the metal rim.  Rainbows everywhere.  A pretty green pool.  A second square hole into complete blackness.  I felt helpless.  I wanted to stop the pretty water from flowing down the blackness but I can do nothing.  I hope that doesn't sound corny; it was powerful and beautiful and sad and my vocabulary is not sufficient for my feelings.  For the entire gallery, click here    These last NYC pictures are a bunch I enjoy.  A baby English citizen died 16 years before our founding fathers declared independence, but Thomas' grave and his church are snug among skyscrapers (I was kind of horrified flying into NYC and seeing tens of thousands of gravestones surrounding the city! Had never thought about it)  Also below:  One World Trade Center, a jovial fruit vendor posing with his street portrait at his street corner, and a rising soccer star enjoying Times Square on his way to start a new life with his first professional team in California:
