Senior Photos - Jeffrey

June 09, 2016

Wow, time whirls away, and look what happens!  Jeffrey is the son of Mike & Teresa... my high school friends... let that sink in... I remember Teresa announcing her son Jeffrey's arrival, and I have a hard time realizing it must have been 18 years ago(!) A huge congratulations to this young man, and his parents, I can't tell you how I enjoyed meeting Jeffrey for these pictures on a crisp and stunning Fall morning in Bellingham.  We met just before sunrise, near Fairhaven...

I enjoyed hearing about Jeffrey's sailing adventures and ambitions! What FUN!! This winter he announced his decision to attend Baylor University, and continue his passion with the Baylor Sailing Club, yay Jeffrey!

A great positive about an eeeaaarly morning session is the lack of crowds! Fairhaven would be booming later in the day on this holiday, but Jeffrey owned the morning!   And between yawns he has an easy smile!

Jeffrey's Mom, Teresa, is a talented writer.  On Jeff's 18th birthday she wrote a Facebook post that had me literally in tears thinking of how time will keep passing.  It was beautiful.  How I wish God would allow a little time hopping just for Moms?  Back to snuggle a child's face and squeeze a soft tummy and then again to the present and our pride & awe of the adult in the making?

Jeffrey was an awesome sport.  At the end of our time together, more and more audience appeared - walkers, joggers, pups, couples, and when Teresa and I were preparing for this last photo, Jeff was - done.  Home, nap, food, all sounded a bit more appealing than more posing... in the middle of the road :)  Teresa asks, "Jeffrey, just one more - for me?"  And Jeffrey responds "Mom, I've done this whole thing for you."  Yay, thank you for making senior pictures for your Mum!  All of us Mums applaud the seniors who make pictures for us!  And... we have... the final shot of this early morning, which seems to be a relaxed contemplation of his bright road ahead!

I pray for Jeffrey to meet solid lifetime friends at Baylor - and for his sails to always be full!  I so enjoyed my morning with this amiable & photogenic young man, getting to know him a little bit.  His easy going, cheerful way - combined with definite boundaries -

(me, pleading: "oh, c'mon, just a few more photos?"  him, casually: "No.")

- bode well for new beginnings with new people this Fall!

Congratulations, Jeffrey  :)
