Sophia ~ vintage Corvette, flowers & fields!
Sophia and her mum Anna & I had such a lovely day!!
I was so appreciative that Sophia was up for starting early in the morning ~
because that is when we get really nice light at Snoqualmie Falls...
...not to mention zero crowds :)
It is so fun for me that Sophia chose dresses, I adore texture, swish ~
juxtaposition of soft fabric with structured things - boulders and buildings:
I have had a surprising number of senior girls with ACL or other knee injuries, relative to the total number that I photograph - we were gentle with Sophia's knee and careful with the slippery rocks in the water, and the huge boulders at the Snoqualmie River below the falls. How did she injure it? Doing one of my favorite things to do - volleyball :) It is fun knowing that I have likely watched Sophia play many times over the years when her Skyline teams took on my girls on their Eastlake teams! Life gives us so many connections!
After sunrise, we took our rest until the afternoon,

came to Sophia in her home for hair & makeup:
Sophia's family just seems to bubble over with fun & love ~
We enjoyed getting ready at her home and then driving to Sammamish's Big Rock Park for portraits with mom & dad and with Dad's
vintage Corvette :)
The whole family are moving away from the PNW all too soon,
so we wanted our forests and natural beauty in Sophia's portraits!

We had an hour between our appointments at Sweet Blissful Blooms and our lavender field ~
so Sophia's mum, Anna, treated us to a relaxing hour of cold drinks and bites at
It was a lovely time :)

It was a perfect spot to announce Sophia's decision...
to go to Grand Canyon University
next fall!
and make some cap & gown photos in her Skyline green with a purple field :)

When we make senior portraits together,
it's often many months before your graduation, so...
we also include a cap & gown mini session in the spring,
Ivy at Snofalls Lavender also has these gorgeous yellow roses that I love:
At our Planning Session,
we look at your favorite outfits or locations and come up with matches.
At Sophia's Planning Session, we decided on dresses, beautiful dresses,
and we knew that she wanted PNW outdoor scenes for her locations.
Our next dress is a dark red with sleeves
and we chose golden fields with Mount Si as our background
at golden hour:
We often need to adjust on the fly ~
the field I'd scouted had been harvested just before our Photography Session
and I was grateful that this field, adjacent to it, was still waving golden grain.
As the sun sunk low
we went to the Alpenglow
This is a hidden field
wild with purple thistle flowers
and we were here for the last of the daylight
and left as the elk came to bed down for the night!

I am excited for the rest of your senior year.
I hope you have a lot of fun social volleyball all the rest of your life, after missing your senior year! I know my husband & I and our adult girls so enjoy playing around and meeting people with that sport!
