The Millers call themselves a Baseball Family - and at the time we took these photos I didn't even know the 1/2 of it! Eldest son is on an All-Star team that is speeding thru the play-offs, hoping for a potential berth in the Little League World Series this summer (wow!) Lots of fun with these kiddos & family:

*Sneak Peek* - My Barn

July 05, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
I have lived in Sammamish 15 years... I have driven past this beautiful old barn just as long... and wanted to take photos of it, but it will be demolished this summer to make way for a new housing development. Then the Whitelaw family (with Montana & Idaho & midwest roots) requested a family shoot with an old barn + I knew this is the time! Many m...

Leafy Arboretum Family Session

June 27, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
Chris is the Daddy behind the camera most of the year, and his photography of his family and his mountain climbing are gorgeous. But once a year this family gets portraits made, with Daddy IN the shots, yay! Glad I was their choice this year. Chris suggested the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle. This park is lush and full of texture. My favorit...

Seattle Sunshine Sneak Peek!

May 29, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
I think we were all giddy with Seattle sunshine! Shining lake, bald eagles, yummy snacks, silly people; a park party. I know this family through church - but it is always so fun to get to know people better during a shoot. Amy & Mike (Grandma & Grandpa in this shoot) were sooooo cute making each other laugh in the golf shot - Mike teasing Amy makes...

60th Wedding Anniversary !

May 25, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
I so enjoyed my afternoon with Sam and Edith. I loved listening to the stories of when they were young. I liked stories of exploits that earned Sam his bronze star in Army Intelligence in World War II. I loved finding this treasure of a photo of them from 60 years ago. I adore the way they adore each other. I love the way Sam uses the present tense...

I had the most fun with Sam & Edith, listening to stories... He adores her and has been her romantic leading man ever since they met at that last dance of the evening... nearly 61 years ago... After that evening Sam spent the next few months riding the bus 2 hours each way to visit Edith at her home in the Bronx. After 4 months they were engaged, a...

Powerfully Moving in NYC

April 19, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
The 9 11 Memorial greatly impressed me emotionally. Water arcs from thousands of points, and thousands of individual names are cut deeply into the metal rim. Rainbows everywhere. A pretty green pool. A second square hole into complete blackness. I felt helpless. I wanted to stop the pretty water from flowing down the blackness but I can do nothing.

Maternity Shoot at Pike Place Market *Sneak Peek*

April 15, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
What a fantastic time I had at my first maternity shoot! Michelle shared many specific thoughts in advance and they were fantastic ideas! My close friend Josée accompanied me and was a valuable set of eyes & hands - many good shots were made great by her ideas & close attention to detail. Travis' folks were invaluable, they held up traffic for me,...

NYC - Brooklyn Bridge & Stone Street

March 27, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
Tony encouraged my desire to visit old New York and walk the Brooklyn Bridge. I liked stepping the steps where George Washington was inaugurated. I liked walking Pearl Street, where Thomas Edison pulled the switch to bring electricity to NYC. Our Wall Street tour was prevented by a peaceful prayer meeting of 50,000 faithful Hasidic Jewish Americans...
