I have known Ashley since she was an itty bitty at Samantha Smith Elementary! I get nostalgic with these young adults ~ especially when I can still picture her as 4 feet tall! Ashley enjoyed Varsity diving for Eastlake High School this year, so even as we had hair and makeup happening earlier in the day, we knew we were going to splash all the work away into deep cold dives by the end of our Photography Session!! Going with the cool water theme, we started our photography at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah -
Thank you to Kelli Strok (makeup) and Gretchen Delusky (hair)!
Services provided one after the other at Ashley's home - so convenient!!
Ashley has a passion for her Band family!
She has played her euphonium with this group for nearly half her life!
Fantastic inspirational band teachers at Inglewood Middle School ~ like "Taps" and Mr. Tran ~ inspired students into a HUGE Band at the middle school, emphasizing the teamwork and "family" of band students.
Two years of COVID restrictions and at-home school were a challenge! Mr. Dahlberg was swept into his Band teacher role along with the beginnings of COVID, and managed the transition to Teams online studies(!) When the high school band were able to play in person again, he was a newbie to the longstanding Eastlake halftime show culture! AND unfortunately was out with COVID for 10 days just before Eastlake's first halftime show in years! It was an awesome opportunity for upper classmen who had played halftime shows in the past to provide leadership for the younger students!
Our marching band at our football games enjoys putting on a show, Ashley was section leader this year :)
Each year, the Eastlake Band holds at least one celebration at Beaver Lake Park ~
so this park on another lake was another obvious choice for a senior portrait location for Ashley :)
And like my Eastlake kid, Joy, it was important to Ashley to make portraits in her regular every day clothes
in addition to her dresses that she loves -
especially for her senior yearbook portrait :)
Her Big Hero 6 bomber jacket & fun concert T's or logos to the beat of her own drum - these are Ash's staples :)
Thank you so much to Ashley's mom, Annette, for helping on this day,
and Jo James for assisting ~ Jo, I love working with you!
Thank you to Fiona! for making us so welcome at your home on the lake for these diving & swimming photographs ~
as the diver ended her beautiful September day with a dip in Lake Sammamish :)
Thank you Suman Chakrabarti for welcoming me to borrow 2 of your Canon lenses, I love the fisheye effect on the photo that begins our "Session Movie" :)
Ashley!!
I had so much fun with YOU!!
You are a fellow imaginator & whimsicality lover ~ and you also possess a precise brass-tacks logistical mind that will enable your dreams to come true :)
Congratulations & I hope you enjoy your graduation next month!!!
