I was so delighted to spend the afternoon with Daniel ~ in a favorite place of his!
You know when you are viewing Snoqualmie Falls from the safety boardwalk and all the signs strongly warn NOT to go down below on the slippery rocks... and you look ACROSS the river at the forest & huge boulders & mountains of driftwood and are just dying to know -
HOW DO I GET OVER THERE?
(safely!!) & without a boat 😆 ...
Daniel has access :)

Daniel has spent time here, first as a young Boy Scout, then as a leader at camp and he worked his way to Eagle Scout ~ this camp in this forest, on the north side of Snoqualmie Falls is a favorite place of his!

The campsites are here, Scout projects and improvements from over the years are here.
The same trails and huge fairy tale old growth forest is here.

& this property is now owned by a group with a very fun idea, and the Scouts have been enjoying stewarding & working with them to make improvements on the land for the last few years:
The Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater
A Theater in the forest! Other offerings are a wedding venue, an Easter egg hunt, a farmer's market ~ all sorts of fun ways to enjoy the property. The Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater is a 501c3 and membership is extremely reasonable annually ~ especially with access to the trails and the unique views of Snoqualmie Falls :) It was a Photographer's dream come true :)

Daniel brought me on a tour through the Scouts' campsites, with whimsical Seven Dwarves names :)

And hiking up into the new campsites built as more recent projects,
an Eagle Scout fire ring project,
and simply exploring the grounds with the fruit trees and grassy fields, fir trees, enormous ferns :)
A little Jurassic, it felt that way all the way from the campsites down the switchback trail, to the huge boulders below Snoqualmie Falls.

We need a little aside about Daniel's hair :)
SO FUN!!!
& obviously a signature of his look.
Daniel's hair was cut & styled at Gene Juarez Men just prior to our shoot. I really like The Barbershop at Gene Juarez in the Bravern of Bellevue. I totally recommend it. They really look at how your hair naturally grows, and how they can use that with the shape of your face ~ pros.
Let's show off some hair ;)

And back to our regular programming ;)
Love the side burns!
We honestly knew we needed some hair shots before hitting the waterfall because ~ the mist! The fairy tale mist surrounding any grand waterfall! We were going to enter a misty world.

Josée came with us that day!
Thank you, Josée for artful video clips and just being you, so fun to be with :)
Forest trails are Josée's natural environment too!
Daniel led Josée & me to the Falls!

The amount of driftwood forced by our river into enormous chunky piles is amazing!
We felt like little ants climbing over the boulders and stacks of shredded wood ~ wow, the power of the river!

Daniel has enjoyed Gibson Ek High School.
The creative & flexible learning style here suits him.
He gets to use his imagination and natural leanings to plan and complete projects more than learning through lectures and tests. He thinks in a language I do not (computers!!) and I want to keep up with what he is doing in school over the next years :)

Daniel has known he will be going to Michigan Tech for a long time :) He has family there, and in fact, his parents & brother are MOVING at about the same time he will be leaving for college, so they will only be a few hours' drive for him next year.
DANIEL,
It is my pleasure to know you!
I thank the Lord for His creative vision in making you, and I'm so interested in seeing His plans unfold in your life.
Thank you for letting me in for a little peek at what is special for you in your life right now!
This is our Session Movie!!
(thank you, Josée Clermont for video clips!)
